Hold assembly polls in J&K: NC

Jammu, Jan 1: Dr Mustafa Kamaal, Additional General Secretary of J&K National Conference today urged the Election Commission of India (ECI) to hold assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir as per the directions of the Supreme Court.

According to a press release, Dr Kamal met with senior colleagues at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan in Jammu and extended heartfelt greetings on the first day of the New Year 2024. He expressed optimism for peace and prosperity in the region. Dr Kamaal conveyed his sincere hopes for a brighter future for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

While interacting with the senior colleagues of the party , the NC leader expressed optimism that the assembly elections would be conducted in Jammu and Kashmir in accordance with the directions of the Supreme Court, highlighting the importance of adherence to legal processes for a transparent and democratic electoral process in the state. He acknowledged the challenges faced by the people in the absence of an elected government and emphasised the need for a representative administration to address the concerns of the populace effectively.
