High Court orders promotion of 10 judicial officers

Srinagar, Oct 15: The High Court of J&K and Ladakh on Wednesday ordered promotion of ten judicial officers to the senior division on an adhoc basis.

According to an order issued by Registrar General (Officiating), M K Sharma, the Civil judges (Junior Division) were promoted as Civil Judges (Senior Division) after considering comparative seniority, vigilance report and performance of all Judicial officers falling in the consideration zone, evaluated in terms of Rule 7 of the J&K and Ladakh Judicial Service Rules, 2025.

The Judges promoted as Civil Judges (Senior Division) included Maleeka Sharma, Ananta Raina, Shabir Ahmad Malik, Altaf Ahmad Mir, Meera Bangotra, Assma Chowdhary, Urvashi Raina, Anjeet Singh, Suhasni Vasistha and Tarun Mahajan.

The order reveals that the promotions shall be subject to certain conditions like the adhoc promotion shall not confer any right of regular promotion or claim of seniority on regular basis, the promotees shall be reverted to the cadre of Civil Judges (Jr. Division) in case sufficient posts are not available for their promotion on regular basis besides the judges shall continue to work at their respective place of posting till their formal adjustment is made.
