Hideout busted in Kupwara, war-like stores recovered

Kupwara, Apr 12: A terrorist hideout was busted in a joint operation by security forces in the forest area of Gangbugh, Sogam in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, Police said.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kupwara Shobhit Saxena told Greater Kashmir that following a specific information about presence of a terrorist hideout in the forest area of Gangbugh, a joint search operation was launched by Police, BSF, Army's 28 RR and 162 Battalion CRPF in the area.

"During the search operation, a terrorist hideout was busted whereas a huge quantity of war-like stores was recovered," he added.

Meanwhile police in a statement said that "On 12. 4. 2024, based on specific information/input related to presence of a terrorist hideout in the forest area of Gangbugh (Sogam) forest, a joint CASO was launched by JKP, BSF, Army's RR and 162 Bn CRPF in the area".

"During the search operation, a terrorist hideout was busted containing large quantities of war-like stores. This operation has delivered a major blow to the nefarious designs of PaK based terrorist groups who have always aspired to disturb the peace and tranquillity in Kashmir valley. In this context a formal case has been registered in PS Sogam and investigation has been taken up," the statement reads further.
