Heavy water flow disrupts Rajouri-Thanamandi road at Lah
Rajouri, Jul 29: Heavy rainfall on Monday triggered a seasonal streamlet to overflow, inundating the Rajouri–Thanamandi road near Lah, severely disrupting traffic and raising serious road safety concerns.
Local residents said the flow of water was diverted from its natural course due to the overflow of the seasonal stream, leading to its entry onto the main road.
Commuters faced difficulty while navigating the stretch, with several vehicles struggling to pass through the waterlogged section.
"The flow was intense, and it looked more like a river than a road," said a local driver. "If it continues then it will lead to accidents here," he said.
Residents urged the authorities for their immediate intervention to clear the water and take preventive measures to avoid future occurrences.
The affected stretch is a crucial link between Rajouri and Thanamandi, and continuous disruptions of traffic could impact daily travel and emergency services.
