Heavy rainfall triggers road blockades in Rajouri district

Rajouri, Aug 12: Continuous heavy rainfall since last night has caused multiple road blockages across Rajouri district, disrupting vehicular movement in several areas.

Officials said that the Kotranka–Khawas road has been closed at Kanja, while the Rajouri-Thanamandi-Surankote road remains shut following a landslide between DKG and Bufliyaz.

They said the Ghambir Mughlan-Thanamandi road is also blocked at several points, including Bhattian Morh and adjoining stretches, due to mudslides and debris.

Restoration work has been initiated, and the administration has urged commuters to avoid unnecessary travel on affected routes until clearance is completed. (KNC)
