Srinagar, Nov 15: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Friday expressed grief over the loss of lives in Thursday’s Tengpora Bypass accident on the outskirts of Srinagar.

“Heartbreaking visuals. This accident claimed previous young lives and has had a devastating impact on their families. My heart goes out to the families of the boys killed in this tragic accident. May Allah grant them a place in Jannat,” Omar Abdullah posted on the microblogging site ‘X’.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that though our cars get quicker, and roads better but simultaneously the road sense shows no sign of improvement.

“Our cars get quicker, our roads get better but our road sense shows no sign of improving. Speed thrills but it kills with no remorse. Traffic rules are there for a reason, they keep us safe but only if we follow them,” he posted on X.

The Srinagar district has witnessed an increase in road accidents in the past few months, leaving dozens of youngsters dead and several others injured.
