Head Constable dies in road accident at Akhnoor in Jammu

Jammu, Aug 19: A police head constable, who was injured in a road accident at Akhnoor on Monday, has succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Ludhiana.

Officials said that Head Constable Narender Singh, a resident of Shangro Doda, was injured in an accident at Tanda (Zalabi Morh) in Akhnoor. He was returning from his home after availing casual leave.

The injured constable was first taken to GMC Jammu for initial treatment before being referred to DMC Ludhiana due to the severity of his injuries, they said.

He, however, passed away this afternoon during the course of his treatment, they said.

Head Constable Narender Singh was currently posted at Police Station Sunderbani.

Cognizance of the incident has been taken and further investigation started. (KNC)
