While at times story of a ‘medical negligence’ would echo around us but the recent incident of faking a noble profession has astonished one and all. While it is factual that a doctor-patient relationship depends on trust, the act committed is akin to wrong treatment given to a patient, akin to ignoring the patient’s care and concern or for that matter akin to being a quack.

The quest for becoming a doctor has engulfed our society to such an extent that we are compelled not only to send our wards to foreign countries in lieu of selling out all our assets earned throughout our whole life, rather an unsuccessful journey to crack this profession has led to the suicidal tendencies amongst our wards; and then comes the faking of doctorate.

Who is responsible?

While the concerned authorities have been claiming streamlining the issuance of various registration certificates, after making it mandatory that no doctor shall be allowed to practice without a proper registration certificate, the question remains as how come a person manages to get a job on the basis of a certificate not issued even by any authenticated/affiliated institution.

Although such certificates require meticulous verification and authentication at the time of winning a job but who is at the fault?, the concerned employer who has perhaps not followed the mechanism to fetch the authentication of the medico or the institution who has even not issued this certification.

While some certificates return as validated by the authorized institutions, another concern is the acceptance of so-called ‘authenticated’ certificates issued by unaffiliated/unrecognized institutions, returning as “Ok”.

With the advanced technological interventions, robust mechanism is required to be evolved to plug these loopholes not only within the medical profession but in other domains as well, to ensure that the appointee in a particular profession neither deceives the employer nor the society.

Sometimes healing comes not from a doctor, neither from the treatment he offers, nor from the medicine does he prescribe, rather the divine intervention works.

If it destined for you to serve the people as a doctor, nobody shall come in your way and if it is not do not override the fate and so the sanctity of this noble profession whether under the garb of faking a certificate or that of unethical prescription or the treatment thereof. The profession is always noble and should remain so.
