Hazratbal residents decry lack of e-rickshaw service

Residents of Hazratbal outskirts have decried the lack of e-rickshaw services saying this causes inconvenience to them.

A delegation of passengers said that amid the dearth of cabs on Batapora, Mulphaq, Chatrahama, and Tailbal routes in the evening, the e-rickshaw service is not available.

The aggrieved residents said that their localities have been neglected with regard to public transport. During peak hours, we are facing immense issues to the non-availability of transport in our areas. After sunset, the cabs are only available to the main Hazratbal and its adjacent area, while the people living in the outskirts are left to fend for themselves. E-rickshaw service to these areas will help the passengers," Said Adil Ahmad, a local from Danihama Hazratbal

The locals said that students and office goers are left stranded, and they can benefit from e-rickshaws on these short routes.

"We cannot hitchhike and reach our destination, unlike male passengers. We appeal to authorities to start e-rickshaw service to our routes," said Fehmeeda, a female passenger.
