Have always championed cause of women’s rights, empowerment: NC

Jammu, Dec 25: National Conference (NC) Provincial President Jammu Province Rattan Lal Gupta today said that his party has always championed women’s rights and empowerment.

He said NC’s Naya Kashmir policy document focuses on empowering the women . According to a press release, he was addressing a party function. A social activist Arti Malhotra joined NC in presence of party President Dr Farooq Abdullah and senior leader Ajay Kumar Sadhotra.

Aarti Malhotra said that she is highly impressed by the ideology of National Conference the foundation of which was laid by Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and carried forward by the party cadre led by Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah. “NC is the only secular party in Jammu and Kashmir and has practically displayed its commitment to women’s empowerment in J&K. My aim of joining NC is to uphold the secular ideology and leave no stone unturned in further empowerment of the women in J&K,”she said.
