Hard times redefine us
Life is not as simple as it seems, it is a roller coaster of ups and downs, happiness and pain. At times, it thrills us with surprises we never imagined. At times, it hits us out of nowhere and sets us back. But life goes on and it has to go on. This can be the best or the worst thing about it. Everything passes and it shall pass. Periods of joy and sorrow may come and go and can hit us differently, based on how we process and react to them. We can be the victim of the situation or the victor of the situation. All the power rests in our hands alone.
We never know our own strength unless being strong is our only option, we all have a hero within, but it is revealed to us only by hard times. Hard times refine and redefine us. Diamonds are formed in pressure. Gold has to go through fire to get pure, a stone has to bear the pain of the hammer and chisel to get beauty. Hardships turn Cocoons into Butterflies. Hard times come to remove the distractions that could cloud our path. It teaches us the lessons we can never learn in comfort. One can’t grow up on easy streets. They say the strongest swords are forged in hottest flames. Everyone has to struggle. Every successful person has his own story of hardships. Surviving hardships can teach you important things about ourselves and the world around us. It deepens our altruism empathy and in time enables us to evolve and grow as a human being. Going through hard times makes us stronger and more successful, makes us strong physically and mentally. It canvases the master piece of ourselves and prepares us for something far greater.
Sometimes, we get so helpless; looking for relief of any sort, but every expected source of respite vanishes in the blink of an eye. Some of our friends, near and dear ones disappear and leave us alone. This isolation is not a punishment, but a blessing. It removes all the distractions and we are all alone to work on ourselves to craft the best version of ourselves.
Life is made by the people who surround us. The sort of relations we have with them. People come and go but some have remarkable influence on our life. Some become the irreplaceable part of our life and some just play their part and disappear. Hard times reveal the true colours of everyone. It unmasks everyone and beneath that mask we can have three types of people. First, who stay there in our hard times. Second, who disappears in our hard times and the third that puts us in hard times. They all have a lesson to teach. First is a true friend. Second is there with you for his vested interests and the third one may seem a rival in the first instance but it is the person who has been placed in our life to lift us.
“Hardships often prepare an ordinary person for an extraordinary destiny.” If you go through hard times, don’t fear the pain. Don’t shy away from the struggle. Embrace it. Go through it fully, completely, without finding an excuse. Go right through it till you find the other end. You will be a different person there. The battle you face today, forge the victories of tomorrow. So believe in yourself. Never give up. Never back down.
