Handwara-Wader road lies in shambles
The 18 km Handwara-Wader road has been severely affecting the residents due to its pathetic condition.
The residents stated that the road has developed huge potholes in multiple spots, causing immense hardships for commuters.
"The concerned department has taken us for granted, compelling us to register a protest. For the past year, we have been requesting them to repair the road, but to no avail," said a local.
Even transporters in the area are frustrated with the road's condition. "Our vehicles get damaged day in and day out due to the huge potholes on this road. A journey that usually takes twenty minutes now takes fifty minutes," said a local cab driver.
The residents have now requested Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Handwara, Aziz Ahmad Rather, to address this important issue so that the hardships faced by over twenty thousand people may come to an end.
