Handwara-Wader road in shambles, people demand macadamisation

The residents of several villages in Rajwar area Sunday expressed strong resentment against authorities for failing to macadamise the 18 km Handwara-Wader road even after the passage of several years with the commuters suffering immensely.

The residents said that the road has developed huge potholes on multiple spots causing immense hardships for the commuters.

"The concerned department has taken us for a ride thereby compelling us to register a protest.

For the last one year we have been requesting them for repair of the road but to no avail," said a local.

Even transporters of the area are anguished over the pathetic condition of the road. The residents have appealed to authorities to address the issue.
