Handwara Police raid Jamia Islamia Institute, Waripora; seize electronic devices

Handwara, Nov 27: Acting on credible information regarding suspected unlawful activities and possible links with proscribed organisation, Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI), Handwara police conducted a raid at Jamia Islamia Institute, Waripora, Handwara, officials said.

In a statement, a police spokesperson said that electronic devices recovered during the operation were seized and are being thoroughly examined to ascertain their usage and verify any suspected affiliations, including possible links with the banned organisation. The investigation is ongoing.

Handwara Police reiterated that it remains committed to acting firmly against any individuals or entities involved in unlawful or anti-national activities.
