Handwara police hosts cycle race to promote fitness, road safety
Kupwara, Mar 18: In a bid to encourage fitness, community engagement, and road safety awareness, Handwara Police on Tuesday organised a cycle race under its civic action programme.
The event, flagged off by SSP Handwara Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary from Main Chowk, Langate, saw enthusiastic participation from cyclists across various age groups, with additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Handwara and other senior police officers also present.
Cyclists went through a challenging yet scenic route, passing through Langate Bridge, T-Junction, and Bypass Handwara, before culminating at the Environment Hall, Handwara. Participants demonstrated great zeal, endurance, and sportsmanship, making the event a grand success.
The winners were felicitated with trophies, medals, and certificates, serving as motivation for the youth to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle.
SSP Handwara, in his concluding remarks while addressing the participants, emphasised the need to ensure a drug-free society and enjoined all the participants to carry the message forward to the society members.
