Handwara girl wins gold in National Kickboxing Championship

Kupwara, Oct 3: A 17-year-old girl from Warpora Magam area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, has made her hometown Handwara proud by winning a gold medal at the National Kickboxing Championship held in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.

She has achieved this feat by defeating her counterpart thereby fullfilng his childhood dream of winning a gold medal at national level.

Nowreen Reyaz’s journey is truly commendable and a source of inspiration for other girls who shy away and don’t take participate in games even if they possess serious talent.

Nowreen a student at Sidhartha Law University in Uttarakhand has received her early education in her native village following which she passed her 12th from Government Boys Higher Secondary Warapora, Magam.

Nowreen in her message to girls said that one should not shy away from playing games. “Earlier girls would shy to participate in games but now world has changed and most importantly if taken seriously one can earn a great name and fame in any sort of games,” she said.

She said that because of the support from her parents she was able to win gold medal in National Kickboxing Championship. “Support from parents happens to be paramount for girls and I am lucky enough to receive great support from parents,” she said.
