Hakeem Yaseen lauds ECI for free, fair elections

Srinagar, June 4: Chairman Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) and former Minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen has lauded election Commission of India (ECI )for holding Parliamentary election 2024 in a free and fair manner.

In a statement, he has also extended his heartfelt congratulations to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for taking part in the biggest democratic exercise with the unprecedented participation, thereby reposing their unflinching trust and faith in democratic and secular values.

He has exuded confidence that the dates for holding assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir would be announced immediately to restore and strengthen people trust and confidence in the electoral democracy. “ Now the time is ripe and socio- political situation most congenial for holding assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, ”Hakeem Yaseen said while hoping ECI would rise to the occasion to come upto the expectations of the people by holding assembly elections at the earliest.

PDF Chairman has also extended congratulations to all the political parties and independent candidates including Syed Agha Ruhulla Mehdi and Mian Altaf Ahmad of NC and Er Ab Rashid of AIP for winning people’s mandate adding that success, defeat and dessent were the essence of real democracy. He has also lauded administration, police and security forces for making adequate and excellent arrangements to enable people take part in the electoral process smoothly.
