Hakeem Yaseen extends Diwali greetings

Srinagar, Oct 20: President People’s Democratic Front (PDF) and former Minister, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, has extended his heartfelt greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of Diwali, the festival of lights.

In his message, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen said that Diwali is a festival that symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and truth over falsehood. He said the celebration of Diwali carries a universal message of hope, renewal, and the triumph of righteousness, cutting across barriers of religion, region, and community.

Extending his greetings, Hakeem Yaseen expressed hope that the festival would usher in an era of peace, prosperity, and happiness in the lives of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and strengthen the spirit of brotherhood and communal harmony. “Diwali reminds us of the importance of compassion, forgiveness, and unity. At a time when our society faces various challenges, this festival gives us the opportunity to renew our collective commitment to peace and harmony,” he said.

He appealed to people to celebrate the festival in a simple, eco-friendly, and safe manner, avoiding the use of harmful firecrackers that pollute the environment and disturb the elderly, children, and animals. He urged everyone to spread happiness by reaching out to the poor, needy, and destitute, sharing the spirit of Diwali with those who are less fortunate.
