Hakeem Yaseen demands employment package for unemployed
Srinagar, Nov 12: Chairman Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) and former minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen has expressed serious concern over the grim unemployment problem in Jammu and Kashmir
In a statement, he has demanded a special central employment package . Hakeem Yaseen termed the unemployment problem in Jammu and Kashmir grim as never before adding that unemployment among youth have made them soft prey to dreadful drug menace. He said unless unemployed youth were engaged in various government and semi government departments and stipend paid to them , the menace of drug addiction was difficult to be controlled fully.
Yaseen said in view of severe power crisis ,there were obsolete chances for growth of industries in Jammu and Kashmir. He added that government should introduce Oversees Employment Board to work out livelihood prospects in oversee countries for the unemployed youth. He said earlier also , when militancy was at its peak in 1990s ,central government had come to the rescue of unemployed youth and recruited hundreds of educated unemployed youth in various central government departments and PSUs including AG’s office , various Insurance companies , and Indian railways , under a fast track recruitment drive. “This time also, Center should come to the rescue of unemployed youth and announce a big special employment package for them,“Hakeem Yasen demanded .
PDF chairman said that failure on the part of government to provide jobs to unemployed youth has made their future bleak, due to which they are falling easy prey to drug mafia.
