GVEI lifts U-14 cricket trophy for 3rd consecutive year

Srinagar, Aug 7: Green Valley Educational Institute (GVEI) continued its dominance in school cricket by lifting the U-14 Inter-Zone title for the third consecutive year.

The tournament, as per a statement, was organised by the Youth Services and Sports Zone Gulab Bagh, witnessing participation from over 20 schools, with GVEI defeating Alpha Public School in a commanding final at the International School of London (Shadab School) ground.

In the final match played between Alpha Public School and Green Valley, the latter won the toss and elected to bat.

As per the official handout, the GVEI team set a target of 95 runs in 8 overs, while the opponent team was bundled on 39 runs.

Their strong batting display of GVEI was complemented by an equally impressive bowling performance, which bundled out the opposition for a low score and ensured a comprehensive victory.

Chairman of GVEI Mohammad Yousuf Wani congratulated the team for this remarkable achievement, applauding their consistency, teamwork, and commitment.

He also appreciated the dedicated efforts of the coaches and staff in nurturing the players and guiding them toward continued success.

With this win, GVEI continues its reign as the undisputed champions of the U‑14 inter‑zone competition for three consecutive years.
