GVEI hosts 1st CBSE affiliated STEM DLD workshop on AI
Srinagar, Jul 29: In a significant development, Green Valley Educational Institute (GVEI) Srinagar on Tuesday organised its first major CBSE‑affiliated event- a STEM‑District Level Deliberation (DLD) workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The workshop was exclusively designed for teachers which emphasised the integration of AI, coding, and robotics into classroom practices while promoting experiential learning to equip students with essential 21st‑century skills.
The session was led by eminent experts, including Associate Professor Kashmir University Dr. Javaid Sheikh, Assistant Professor Government Degree College Anantnag Dr. Zahid Ahmed, Assistant Professor Centre for AI and ML SKUAST-K Dr. Zamir Ahmed and Design Fellow at IUST Awantipora Jawaz Ahmad.

In his address, he commended the initiative and said the district‑level deliberations like these were crucial for enabling teachers to adapt to rapidly evolving technologies and foster innovation in schools.
The workshop witnessed the participation of educators from several CBSE schools including Delhi Public School Srinagar, Police Public School, Army Public School Srinagar, GD Goenka Public School, Minto Circle senior secondary school, Doon School Srinagar, and Dolphin International School Pulwama.
Principal GVEI Riyaz Kathjoo in his address said this workshop marks a milestone in GVEI's journey as a CBSE institution which is aimed at preparing educators to lead classrooms that encourage innovation, problem solving, and real‑world application of knowledge.
Chairman GVEI Mohammad Yousuf Wani emphasized the commitment of the schools to stay ahead in educational excellence.
"Such initiatives strengthen Green Valley’s vision of creating future‑ready learners," he said.
The workshop concluded with an engaging deliberation session in which the teachers exchanged insights on implementing AI‑driven learning, integrating coding and robotics into curricula besides adopting experiential learning practices to help students thrive in a rapidly changing world.
