GVEI emerges victorious in zonal level football tournament

Srinagar, May 28: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (YSS) Zone Gulabagh, District Srinagar on Tuesday conducted an inter-school zonal level football competition for under 17 girls at Habbak Shanpora ground Srinagar.

The Green Valley Educational Institute (GVEI) team emerged victorious in the finals, defeating Higher Secondary School Khimber with a score of 3-0. The sports event saw the participation of around 12 teams, showcasing the talent and competitive spirit of young athletes in the region.

Chairman GVEI Mohammad Yousuf Wani congratulated the team on their impressive win and emphasized the commitment of the school to provide more platforms for female students to excel in sports. "We are dedicated to nurturing and promoting our students' athletic talents," Wani said.

He said that such competitions not only foster sportsmanship but also empower young girls to pursue their passions and achieve their dreams."

The department of YSS also commended all the participating teams for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

The department reiterated its support for youth-related sports initiatives.
