Gusty winds damage several structures in city areas

Srinagar, Feb 19: Gusty winds accompanied by heavy rains damaged several structures in the summer capital on Monday.

Gusty winds ripped off the roofs of two houses at Rainawari area in Downtown. Another house at Faqeer Gujree area of Harwan on the city outskirts was also damaged due to strong winds.

These houses belonged to Firdous and Inaayat, sons of Gh. Mohd of Gada Mohalla besides Manzoor Ahmad Sofi, son of late Mohd Qasim of Lati Mohalla Rainawari. The damaged house at Faqeer Gujri belonged to Mohd Aslam Phamda, son of Raj Mohd Phamda. However, no injuries were reported in these incidents.

According to the reports, many residential areas in the interiors of Dal Lake also faced damage to rooftops. Besides, numerous areas of Srinagar experienced power cuts due to strong winds. Several shikaras were also damaged due to gusty winds.
