Jammu, Nov 15: The Prakash Parv of Guru Nanak Devji was celebrated with religious fervour and festivity across Jammu on Friday.

In Jammu city, the main function was held at Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Chand Kour Nagar which drew a large number of devotees from diverse backgrounds.

The celebrations were marked by religious discourses and “Shabad Kirtan” by prominent Ragi Jathas emphasizing Guruji’s teachings with focus on communal harmony.

On this pious occasion, J&K Congress President and MLA, Tariq Hameed Karra, along with senior leaders Working President Raman Bhalla, former minister Yogesh Sawhney, ex-MLC Ved Mahajan, Amolak Singh, DDC T S Tony and other senior party leaders, visited Gurudwara Guru Nanak Dev Ji at Chand Nagar, Jammu. The leaders offered prayers and paid their respects, marking the day with a message of peace, brotherhood and unity.

They paid obeisance at the Gurudwara and offered prayers, extending wishes to the community on this day.

Speaking on the occasion, Karra stated, “Guru Nanak Dev Jayanti is an important day for the community across the world. His teachings stand very relevant in today's atmosphere, particularly his emphasis on brotherhood, which is very important in J&K and across the nation in the prevalent environment.”

“We should emphasise Guru Nanak Devji’s principles of equality, compassion and selfless service, urging everyone to follow the path of harmony and brotherhood. We want to remember Guru Nanak Dev Ji by promoting these values across the region,” he said.

JKPCC President called for collective efforts to strengthen communal harmony and uphold the spirit of mutual respect in the society.
