Gurupurab celebrated with fervour in Jammu

Jammu, Jan 5: Prakash Parv, commemorating the birth anniversary of the tenth Sikh Guru and founder of Khalsa Panth, Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, was celebrated with religious fervour and festivity in Jammu on Sunday.

The main religious congregation was held at Gurudwara near Bibi Chand Kaurji Samadh at Jewel Chowk.

A large number of devotees paid obeisance at Gurudwara.

Celebrations were marked by religious discourses and “Shabad Kirtan” by local Ragi Jathas and also those from outside, emphasizing life’s higher values and communal harmony.

Langar was also served to the devotees.

Parts of the Jammu region are going to celebrate Gurupurab on Monday.

The J&K government has also announced the public holiday on account of Gurupurab on January 6.
