Guru Nanak Jayanti celebrated with fervour

Ramban, Nov 27: The 554th birthday of Guru Nanak Dev Ji was celebrated with religious fervour and traditional gaiety in Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar districts on Monday.

In Ramban district, the main programme was organised at Gurudwara Singh Sabha in Batote under the supervision of the President of the District Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, Sanmokh Singh.

The Shabad-Keertan, Katha and pravachan on the teachings and life of Guru Ji were the highlights of the celebration. At last Guru Granth Sahib Paath and Ardaas were held. The devotees were served Guru Ka Langar also.

To mark this auspicious occasion, Prabhaat Pheries with Nagar Keertan by the Sikh devotees through the Batote town were conducted during the past 10 days.

Meanwhile, Deputy Inspector General, CRPF, Jammu Sector, Akhilesh Kumar Singh along with his wife Sandhya Singh attended a Gurpoorav programme at CRPF, 84 Bn Dett, Headquarters in Boom Chanderkote.

On the occasion, after Sukhmani Sahib Paath, Shabad-Keertan and Paath were held in the presence of CRPF personnel and prominent locals under the supervision of Commandant, CRPF, 84 Battalion, Ranbir Singh.

Commandant 84 Bn CRPF, N Ranbir Singh extended his warm greetings and good wishes to all the Unit personnel and their families, especially Sikh brothers.

He emphasised the message of love, brotherhood, sharing and service which are the fundamental teachings of Guru Nanak Ji.

He also highlighted the paramount role played by CRPF in upholding the secular fabric of the country and its instrumental contribution to nation-building.

The programme concluded with a langer organised for all the participants, and devotees.
