Gurez road opens for traffic

Bandipora, Nov 25: The 85-km Gurez-Bandipora road reopened for traffic on Monday after remaining closed for two days.

Officials said following snow clearance operations at Razdan Top, the road was opened for traffic.

The road was closed on Saturday after snowfall in the valley and upper reaches of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

Officials have asked commuters to follow the cut-off timings to cross Traffic Control Points (TCPs) at Tragbal and Kanzalwan.

Moreover, the commuters including passenger cab drivers have been directed to plan journeys only after confirming the road status.

They said drivers have been advised to use anti-skid chains and other safety measures, without which no vehicle will be allowed to travel on the road.
