Jammu, Feb 4: A terrorist was killed during fresh exchange of gunfire between them and the security forces in remote areas of Dachaan in Kishtwar district of Chenab Valley.

Massive anti-terror operations are going on in remote Dachaan area of Kishtwar where terrorists and security forces have exchanged gunfire thrice in a month.

Officials said that joint teams of Army, Police, and CRPF were carrying out anti-terror operation for the past three weeks and even senior officers of security forces were camping in the area.

They said that security forces and terrorists exchanged fresh gunfire on Wednesday evening in which a terrorist was killed and his body had been retrieved.

Indian Army's White Knight Corps said that in continuing search and elimination of terrorists in the Kishtwar region, where the hunt has already led to several contacts in the dense forests and challenging terrain, contact was re-established with the terrorists on the run in the ongoing joint Operation Trashi-I, by the troops of CIF Delta of White Knight Corps, J&K Police, and CRPF at around 5.45 pm in the general area of Dichhar, Kishtwar.

"A terrorist has been successfully neutralised and operation is in progress," they said.

It has been learnt that more reinforcement has been rushed to the area to plug escape of more terrorists if present in the area.
