Gunfight in Poonch forests

Rajouri, Sep 12: Terrorists and Police personnel Thursday evening exchanged gunfire in the Surankote subdivision after which a massive anti-terror operation was launched.

Officials said that a team of the Special Operation Group (SOG) was conducting a search operation in a forest area of Draba in Poonch when terrorists hiding in forests fired at the Police personnel.

The initial firing was retaliated promptly leading to an exchange of fire after which terrorists reportedly escaped into the inner forest area.

Officials said that reinforcements were rushed to the area and a massive anti-terror operation was launched.
