Gund Chal: South Kashmir’s ‘onion’ village

Gund Chal, a picturesque village in Anantnag district of South Kashmir, has become a prominent hub for onion sapling production. With approximately 200 families involved in agriculture, the village cultivates onion saplings across 400 kanals of land. These saplings are not only essential for local consumption but are also distributed to neighboring districts, making Gund Chal a crucial player in the region's agricultural economy.
