He was addressing an election rally at Chowkibal in Kupwara. While referring to an incident, Dr Farooq Abdullah said “When I was dismissed as chief minister in 1984, late Abdul Gani Lone came to meet me at my residence and during our discourse Lone revealed that he was going to Pakistan to bring gun but I warned him about the grave consequences and destruction which gun could bring and see what happened later. Our people, children and elderly got killed. After his return from Pakistan, Lone met me and said, Farooq Saab you were right, Pakistan does not love Kashmiris, instead wants the land only. Later not only Mirwaiz Molvi Farooq but he also fell victim to the same gun.”

“I feel ashamed of the fact that the Prime Minister considers those people Indians here who would try to disintegrate India in the past,” he added.

Talking about delimitation, NC President said that it was never for the betterment of people. “Anantnag has been aligned with Poonch and Rajouri. How can an MP do justice with both the rejoins when Mughal road remains open for only four months,” said the former Chief Minister.

“We have acceded to Gandhi’s and Nehru’s India and not to Modi’s India. Modi says that Muslims are not from this land but he has forgotten that we have been living in this country for decades,” he added.

“National Conference has never bowed down to anyone and nor it will, come what may. We have always stood for the people since the inception of our party,” Dr Farooq Abdullah said.

“Those who are seeking votes nowadays, ask them who constituted Al-Barq, who brought gun here, who killed our people. People will have to make a difference in this election by sending the right candidate to Parliament,” he added.

Dr Farooq Abdullah who is on a two day visit to this frontier district, is scheduled to address an election rally in Karnah on Tuesday.
