Zaznar originates from the combination of two words, 'Zaz' and 'Nar,' signifying a 'red place,' reminiscent of the captivating hues observed during sunset, thus earning the name Zaznar. The sunset and the Nard landscape's presence bear testimony to the nomenclature of this locale. According to the accounts shared by the community elders, Zaznar was a favoured destination for Mughal emperors who delighted in its scenic beauty.

Unveiling an Eco-Tourism Haven Free from Pollution, Pioneered by the Wildlife Trust of India

This location ought to be categorized as part of eco-tourism. Additionally, it remains devoid of pollution and polythene. The Wildlife Trust of India distributes gas stoves to the local community through the Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana (PMUY) to safeguard the juniper (Juniper Communis). This endeavour contributes to the protection of the juniper and addresses other potential fire hazards within the sanctuary.
