Gruesome, unforgivable
This is an act of terror. Period. It must be seen as that, and fought against with all the strength any decent human society can muster. The response to the brutal murder of seven innocent people, in this act of manifest terror at Gagangeer, must go beyond condemnations. The government and the concerned security institutions must do everything possible to punish such elements and also stop such incidents from recurring.
At a time when J&K was celebrating the return of democracy, and a civilian government was just settling in, this incident at Gagangeer looks like the monster raising its head again. It is not the first such incident, we have seen such innocent killings in the past as well. As a people we have been victims of such terror incidents and it is for all of us to stand against the evil forces with one voice. What on earth can explain the killing of innocent people? Nothing.
Just nothing. For how long should innocent people like those at Gagangeer fall prey to this worst form of terrorism. And for how long should we watch it with a paralytic helplessness. The government and the people must join hands to fight against such elements who seem to be hellbent on disturbing the peace in this region. It is time that no mercy is shown to the killers, and no effort is left undone to fight this monster of terrorism. Imagine how painful it must be for the parents who lost their sons. Imagine what must have fallen on the family members of those killed at Gagangeer! After all what had these innocent souls done to anyone's 'interest' or 'end'? And what kind of 'interest' or 'end' can justify terrorism.
What was their fault that they were killed, and in such a brutal manner? In this moment of extreme sadness one can only make this prayer: May God turn His wrath on all such people who spill the blood of innocents.
