Growing drug menace cause of concern: PDP
Srinagar, Aug 13: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed deep concern about the escalating drug menace that is plaguing our society, particularly among the youth.
In a statement the party spokesperson, Tahir Sayeed, said, "The spread of drug addiction in our region has reached alarming levels. It is devastating to witness how our young generation is falling prey to this scourge, which is tearing apart families, ruining lives, and destabilising our communities."
He added that the PDP strongly believes that the fight against this menace requires a comprehensive and coordinated approach. Sayeed emphasised the importance of community involvement in addressing this crisis.
"We must all come together-Parents, educators, religious leaders, and civil society—to raise awareness about the dangers of drug addiction. Our youth need guidance, support, and alternatives to ensure they do not fall into the clutches of this deadly vice," the PDP spokesperson said.
"As a party, we are committed to the well-being of our people and will continue to push for policies and initiatives that protect our youth from this growing threat," Sayeed added.
