Group Commander NCC meets GOC Fire & Fury Corps
Jammu, July 21: Group Commander NCC Srinagar, Brigadier Deepak Sajjanhar Sunday met General Officer Commanding (GOC) Fire & Fury Corps, Lieutenant General Hitesh Bhalla to deliberate on the ongoing NCC activities and future initiatives aimed at empowering the youth of Ladakh.
PRO Defence Lt Col SuneelBartwal said that during the interaction, Group Commander, on behalf of NCC JK&L Directorate, expressed profound gratitude to the Corps Commander for the unwavering support provided to the NCC which had been instrumental in the successful conduct of various NCC camps and initiatives. He specifically acknowledged the assistance for the first-ever Annual Training Camp (ATC) in Kargil, three successful ATCs in Karu, the Vibrant Village Camp (a Prime Minister's Initiative), where NCC cadets visited border villages like Nyoma, Hanle, Korzok and Fuga Valley and the NCC expedition to Mt Kang Yatse II.
“The Fire & Fury Corps has significantly contributed to the growth and spread of NCC in the Union Territory of Ladakh by incorporating NCC cadets in special programmes like “Know Your Army Mela” and numerous community development activities. These include events such as the flagging in and out of various bike rallies leading up to the Kargil Vijay Diwas, RajatJayanti,” Lt Col Bartwal said.
Group Commander expressed his gratitude to the Corps Commander for the support provided by the Trishul Division, Forever In Ops Division and Kargil Brigade in conducting several camps and aiding in raising of the new NCC Bn in Kargil (2 LadakhBn NCC).
Lt Gen Bhalla commended the efforts of the NCC cadets in engaging the youth in productive activities and preparing them to be better citizens. He expressed satisfaction with the contribution of the formations in the growth of NCC and assured maximum assistance for future endeavours of NCC in Ladakh region.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, reaffirming the shared commitment to empowering the youth of Ladakh through NCC.
