GRMF celebrates World Pharmacist Day with Free Medical Camp in Srinagar
Srinagar, Sep 25: The G R Beigh Memorial Foundation marked World Pharmacist Day with a vibrant event and free medical health camp at its Bilal Colony, Soura head office on Thursday.
Hosted by Chairman Ishtiyaq Beigh, the programme saw enthusiastic participation from foundation veterans and locals, offering free health check-ups and medication guidance to over 200 residents.
Chief guest Raja Mohiuddin, Chief Editor of KPS News, and guests of honour Azhar Majeed, MD, Auto Wings Toyota, a Bollywood artist, and Congress leader Danish Reshi and Ghulam Muhammad Hamdard, Convener, JKNC Trade Union Cell, attended the event, lauding the foundation’s community service.
The event featured health talks, cultural performances, and heartfelt tributes to pharmacists’ vital role.
The medical health camp, a cornerstone of the day’s activities, provided free consultations, medication advice, blood pressure screenings, and general health check-ups to over 200 attendees from the local Bilal Colony community.
Volunteers from the foundation, including veteran pharmacists and medical professionals, offered personalised guidance on common ailments, preventive care, and the safe use of over-the-counter drugs.
The participants, many of whom are daily wage earners and families from low-income backgrounds, expressed gratitude for the timely intervention, with one elderly resident saying, “This camp came at just the right time, it’s a blessing for those who can't afford regular doctor visits.”
