Grant writing workshop concludes at SKUAST-K
Srinagar, Nov 15: A six-day workshop on effective grant writing concluded Wednesday as part of the program ‘Leveraging Agriculture and Food Systems for Human Health’ at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir, Shalimar campus.
Advanced PhD students completed an intensive 6-day workshop offered by the Food Systems Planning and Healthy Communities Lab (UB Food Lab) at the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York (SUNY-UB). Co-designed by Dr Samina Raja (Professor and Director, Food Lab, SUNY-UB) and Dr Khalid Zaffar Masoodi, Assistant Professor, Division of Plant Biotechnology, the workshop introduced students to the elements and logic of a grant proposal and strategies for preparing a strong application for research grants.
Student-participants represented a variety of departments from across SKUAST-K faculties including Agricultural Entomology, Plant Pathology, Sericulture, and Soil Science and Agrochemistry. Students recognized for completing the workshop successfully are Irtifa Lateef, Mahreena Farooq Rather, Nadiya Mushtaq, Parthiban M, Renuka, and Qadrul Nisa. The workshop was supported by two teaching co-facilitators Dr Tasmeen J Parihar and Syed Inam Ul Haq from K-Lab, SKUAST-K.
