Srinagar, Nov 16: Jammu and Kashmir minister, Javid Dar on Sunday said that the government will compensate and rehabilitate the families affected by the Nowgam blast that killed nine people and left 32 others injured.

Dar said that that the administration will complete the assessment process and deliver support without any delay.

He said that the government has already announced a relief package for the affected families. “Officials will rehabilitate and provided compensation to the families whose properties suffered damage in the explosion,” he said.

The minister said that since the case is at an early stage, the administration will speed up the process to deliver support on time. “Over 20 injured persons are still in the hospital, including three who are in serious condition but stable”, he said.

Nine people, including a State Investigating Agency officer, a Naib Tehsildar, and a tailor were killed and 32 others were injured in the blast that occurred after a stockpile of seized explosives, stored inside police station, went off accidentally.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also ordered a probe into the matter, and said that the government stands in solidarity with those affected by the blast—(KNO)
