Govt should maintain essential services during winter: NC’s Showkat Mir

Srinagar, Oct 8: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (Kashmir) Provincial President Showkat Mir Wednesday urged the CM Omar Abdullah-led government to continue its good work in ensuring adequate arrangements for essential commodities during the approaching winter months, particularly in the upper reaches of the Kashmir division, said a press release.

Mir appreciated the “government’s well-devised strategy and efficient planning during the previous winter, which ensured smooth availability and stocking of ration, kerosene oil, and other essential supplies even in remote and snowbound areas.”

He called upon the administration to maintain the same momentum and preparedness this year to mitigate the hardships faced by people living in far-flung regions.

“The timely stocking of food grains, kerosene oil, LPG, and other essential items must remain a top priority. The commendable efforts made last year should be continued with the same dedication so that no area faces shortages during harsh weather conditions,” Mir said.
