Govt seals petrol pump in Sopore for SOP violations
Sopore,Dec 13: Authorities have ordered the immediate closure of a petrol pump in Sopore following persistent complaints and reports of violations of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
An official issued ordered in this regard cited multiple reports from the Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore, Tehsildar Dangerpora, Assistant Controller Legal Metrology, Baramulla, and Deputy Director Fire & Emergency Services, Baramulla, which highlighted illegitimate operations at the petrol pump.
The license for the petrol pump, issued to Mohammad Ashraf Khan, a resident of Chinkipora, Tehsil Dangerpora, Baramulla, was revoked. The license, which permitted the "import and storage of Petroleum Class B up to 25,000 liters, was granted in 2016 under license number DC-Bla/SH/1406."
The decision to seal the petrol pump comes after detailed reports revealed non-compliance with legal and safety regulations. These reports include ADC Sopore’s findings (No ADC/Spr/Griv/2024/467-68 dated 02/11/2024), Tehsildar Dangerpora’s observations (No 66/0Q/DNGR/22 dated 10-01-2023), Assistant Controller Legal Metrology’s report (No LM/ACB/34 dated 19/05/2022), and the Deputy Director Fire & Emergency Services’ report (No DDF&ESS/F-Prv/2022/1057 dated 24/05/2022).
The order mandates the immediate sealing and cessation of operations at Gul Motors to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
