Srinagar, Jun 9: MLA Handwara and People's Conference President , Sajad Gani Lone, said on Monday that the government is not serious about the reservation issue, and that he is not surprised by their actions.

He pointed out that a new recruitment advertisement has been released, showing 30 seats for open merit and 45 seats for reserved categories. Lone said that if the government truly wanted change, they would have waited for the sub-committee report before announcing the recruitment, reports KNS.

They didn’t wait and I’m not surprised, he added. Taking to X, he posted, Yet another recruitment advertisement is out. And 30 seats for open merit compared to 45 reserved. If government is serious about a change they would have waited for the sub- committee report. They haven’t. And I am not surprised.”
