Govt must act swiftly to address unemployment: MP Mian Altaf

Rajouri, Aug 1: Member Parliament from Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha constituency, Mian Altaf Ahmed, has termed unemployment as the most pressing challenge currently confronting Jammu and Kashmir.

He urged the Jammu and Kashmir Government to take swift and concrete measures to address the rising joblessness among the youth.

The Member Parliament was addressing media persons on the sidelines of an event during his visit in Rajouri. Highlighting the growing frustration among educated but unemployed youth, Mian Altaf said that the number of job seekers is increasing day by day, while the lack of recruitment drives is worsening the situation.

"The government must act with urgency. There are a large number of vacancies across various departments in Jammu and Kashmir. These positions should be filled without any further delay to offer relief to unemployed youth and to tackle problem of unemployment," the MP said. He further said to discuss with Government the issue of unemployment and to press for efforts to deal with it.
