Srinagar, Nov 07: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has launched Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign 4.0 to encourage pensioners across the Union Territory to adopt the online mode of submitting life certificates.

The campaign, organized by the Finance Department in collaboration with the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, aims to universalize the use of Jeevan Pramaan and Aadhaar Face RD Apps.

As per official data, out of nearly 2.5 lakh pensioners in J&K, only about 4,500 currently use the Jeevan Pramaan app for certification.

The majority still depend on physical visits to treasuries or bank branches to verify their life certificates, a process the new campaign seeks to eliminate.

The Digital Life Certificate system enables pensioners to authenticate their identity through Aadhaar-based facial recognition on mobile phones, automatically generating their life certificate online. This will save time and effort, particularly benefiting elderly and differently-abled pensioners.

To assist pensioners, the J&K Government has partnered with J&K Bank, which will deploy its banking correspondents to help install the required apps and generate DLCs free of cost. Pensioners can also visit the official website https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in to download their certificates using their Pramaan ID.
