Govt employees, pensioners to get revised DA

Jammu, June 26: The government employees and pensioners, continuing to draw their pay and pensions respectively as per the 6th Pay Commission, will get Dearness Allowance (DA) at an enhanced rate, effective July 1, 2023.

As per an order issued by Principal Secretary, Finance, Santosh D Vaidya, in continuation to Government Order No 117-F of 2023 dated June 7, 2023, the government employees, continuing to draw their pay in the pre-revised pay scale or grade pay as per 6th Pay Commission, will be paid DA at a revised rate of 230 percent of basic pay from the existing 221 percent (of basic pay) per month.

The arrears for an additional instalment of DA from July 2023 to May 2024 will be paid in cash in June 2024 and will form part of the monthly salary from June 2024 onwards.

A separate order issued, in continuation to Government Order No 118-F of 2023 dated June 7, 2023, said that the government pensioners or family pensioners would also be paid DA at a revised rate of 230 percent of basic pension or basic family pension from the existing 221 percent (of basic pension or basic family pension), per month, with effect from July 1, 2023.

The arrears for the additional instalment of DA from July 2023 to May 2024 will be paid in cash in June 2024 and will form part of the monthly pension or family pension from June 2024 onwards.
