Govt employee shot dead by terrorists in Rajouri

Rajouri, Apr 22:  A government employee serving in the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) as a Junior Assistant has been shot dead by terrorists in his house in Kundar hamlet of Shahdra village of Rajouri.

The village falls within the jurisdiction of Thanamandi Police Station. Officials said that unidentified gunmen entered his house and fired indiscriminately at him, killing him on the spot.

The deceased has been identified as Muhammad Razzaq, son of Muhammad Akbar, who was serving as a Junior Assistant in the ICDS and was serving in the district office.

The deceased was the brother of an Army soldier presently serving in the Territorial Army battalion.

Officials said that soon after the attack, security forces rushed to the spot and cordoned the area.

“Extensive searches are going on in the area,” they said.
