Govt Degree College Sumbal observes Arbor Day

Srinagar, Apr 24: Under the patronage of Principal Govt Degree College, Sumbal, Prof (Dr) Shabeena Iqbal Shawl, Dept of Botany celebrated Arbor Day today at the college.

Renowned socialist,  environmentalist and leading industrialist  Abdul Rahim, owner Rahim Greens was invited to deliver a special lecture on the occasion.  Inaugural  address was delivered by Dr. Nikhat Nabi (Dept of Zoology). She voiced concern which an individual must possess for his environment, also how an  individual can be resourceful and become an asset for his environment.

Dr Nikhat Nabi felicitated the invited guest by presenting a memento on the  occasion. Dr Fahima Gul (Organising Secretary of the event) briefed the audience about the background of the invited guest. A three-minute documentary aired previously by NDTV highlighting the contribution of the speaker was also played.
