Govt confirms issuing 52 domicile certificates to non-locals in Beerwah, cites marriage as reason

Jammu, March 13: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday said that 52 non-local individuals had been issued domicile certificates in Beerwah tehsil of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Responding to a question from NC legislator, Dr Shafi Wani, the Minister for Health and Medical Education, Sakina Itoo, informed the House that while 52 non-locals were granted domicile certificates in Beerwah tehsil, no such certificates were issued to non-locals in Narbal and Magam tehsils.

When asked about the identities of these non-locals, the minister clarified that they had married within the area.
Additionally, she said that a total of 18,921 domicile certificates were issued to locals in Narbal, 26,277 in Magam, and 62,343 in Beerwah.
