New Delhi, Dec 5: The government has completed stakeholder consultations on the draft Broadcasting Services (Regulation) Bill, 2023, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L Murugan informed the Rajya Sabha on Friday.
The draft bill, first released for public comments on 10 November 2023, saw its feedback deadline extended twice, first to 15 January 2024 and later to 15 October 2024, to incorporate wide-ranging inputs from industry bodies, media organisations and the public.

Murugan said all suggestions have now been examined, adding that the government “believes in wide and extensive consultations” while framing legislation.
