Govt committed to ensuring safety of migrating tribal population: Dy CM

Jammu, Mar 12: The government Wednesday said that it was committed to ensuring the safety of the migrating tribal population.

Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary speaking on behalf of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah assured the House that the government remains committed towards ensuring the safety and well-being of the migrating tribal population.

He said this in response to a starred question by Khurshied Ahmad in the Legislative Assembly.

Choudhary informed the House that no loss of life or damage to the property of the tribal community had been reported due to heavy rains or floods during migration in the past two years (2023 and 2024) or to date in respect of the Gulabgarh constituency.
