Govt committed to advancement of J&K’s industrial sector: LG
Jammu, Apr 14: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Monday said that the government was committed to the advancement of J&K’s industrial sector.
Virtually inaugurating the manufacturing unit of Superior Polymer India Private Limited in Kathua, the LG said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, the government was committed to the advancement of the industrial sector in Jammu and Kashmir.
He congratulated the Superior Group of Industries and the members of Superior Polymer India Private Limited on their new venture and conveyed his best wishes.
The unit set up with an investment of Rs 75 crore will generate hundreds of employment opportunities.
LG Sinha said the commencement of this greenfield project was an important milestone, promising a positive impact on the local economy and employment generation, and a significant push to the industrial development of the region.
“J&K’s manufacturing ecosystem is growing and today's project dedicated to industrial development will give momentum to the mission of Atmanirbhar J&K,” he said. “We have ensured a workforce prepared for industrial jobs. We have empowered marginalised sections of the society to broaden the skilled workforce. Our handloom and handicraft exports surged after building the industrial ecosystem.”
The LG said that the progressive industrial policy and several key interventions in the last few years had strengthened investors’ confidence in J&K and attracted private investment.
“We have been successful in creating a conducive environment for the growth of industries, enabling overall development. Our efforts are now yielding positive dividends with many industrial units starting their operations and many more investment proposals are in the pipeline,” he said.
Commissioner Secretary Industries and Commerce Department, Vikramjit Singh; Director, Industries and Commerce, Jammu, Arun Kumar Manhas; Superior Group of Industries, Pradeep Agrawal Chairman; Vice Chairman, Vishal Agrawal, CEO, Ashish Sethi, Chief Human Resource Officer, Sunil Kumar Mishra, and other members of the Superior Group of Industries and Superior Polymer India Private Limited were present on the occasion.
Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rakesh Minhas along with other officials also joined through virtual mode.
